Location - South Africa really is the perfect long-haul sports tour: English speaking; a small time difference; schools and clubs playing all major UK sports to an exceptional standard and using first-class facilities.
An itinerary can include Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria and would be tailored to a group’s requirements and budgets. Tours usually start in the north with time spent in Pretoria and Johannesburg including stays at a game lodge and amazing excursions such as a visit to a traditional tribal village as well as a canopy zip line experience. Cape Town also offers an incredible experience, especially as it will be the only destination to ever host the World Cups of football, rugby and cricket plus netball in 2023! Aside from enjoying matches at superb sporting venues, trips up Table Mountain or to Robben Island give perspective to the destination and a stay at a nearby game lodge will add a sense of discovery to this African adventure.
Rugby - World Cup winners in 1995 and 2019, South Africa has produced some of the all time iconic players so what better way then to face-off in a competitive match against local schools. By visiting multipe areas of the country you will experience different locations and different experiences of what rugby means to this successful rugby nation.

General FAQs
Please pick up the phone and give us a call. We have years of experience organising trips abroad and we’ll be happy to run you through the do’s and don'ts of organising a trip away. If you want further professional assistance, then we can put you in touch with a Snowsport England qualified instructor, you can also attend a SCO (Snowsport Course Organiser) day.
The basic ratio is 1:10 for flight tours and 1:8 for coach trips. However, if your group requires a different ratio, we will work with you to ensure that you get what you need. This may include extra free places of calculating a separate tour price for any paying passengers.
Pupils will drop in and out of the trip. It happens. For those groups travelling by coach, we won’t ask for pupil details until very close to departure so pupils can swap in and out and the financial element of this can be organised internally. For those travelling by air, low cost airlines ask for names on booking so any change of passenger is likely to require a name-change fee which we would add to the final balance.
If pupils continue to add on, then this is fine subject to availability with the hotel and transport companies. The flight price may be higher if pupils add on months after the original booking and we will tell you what the cost is before you commit.
If pupils drop out, then unfortunately some fixed costs such as coach hire or instructors will be spread over a lower number and so your price may have to increase. However, this will never happen without a full discussion and we will work with you to limit any impact
There’s no right answer to this although we would recommend first time trip organisers look 12-18 months ahead whilst experienced trip organisers may want 9 months plus if heading to a new resort. We do want all trips to be as accessible as possible and whilst financial climates ebb and flo, giving students and parents a long lead in time will help them plan ahead and will stop you having to chase payments.
