School Ski Trips to Italy (Sestriere)

"Olympic host, high altitude resort and part of the 400km Milky Way ski area"

Starting from £ 965 ( 5 nights )

Price based on an 8 day 5 night trip in low season

Skiing - Olympic host resort for multiple events in the downhill ski programme, Sestriere is a high altitude resort with a variety of pistes and good ski infrastructure. Part of the 400km Milky Way ski area, aside from the great slopes in Sestriere itself, you are one lift away from slopes to Sauze d'Oulx and San Sicario and you can ski onwards to Claviere and Mongenevre in France. At 2000m, the resort is incredibly snow-sure and has good learner areas to help allow newer skiers to progress quickly, however the chance to try the Olympic downhill to Borgata is one that any competent skier will never forget.

Resort - Sestriere was purpose built by the Agnelli Family in the 1950s. As a purpose built resort, this means that there is a large central piazza and all hotels are within easy reach of both the pistes and also the resort. Aside from a sports halll and cinema, Sestriere has a superb pizzeria, one of the best discos in the Alps as well as a fantastic outdoor heated pool.

General FAQs

Please pick up the phone and give us a call. We have years of experience organising trips abroad and we’ll be happy to run you through the do’s and don'ts of organising a trip away. If you want further professional assistance, then we can put you in touch with a Snowsport England qualified instructor, you can also attend a SCO (Snowsport Course Organiser) day.

Yes, we can help you organise an inspection trip or there might be places available on our set inspection trips – see our Inspection Trips webpage for further information.

The basic ratio is 1:10 for flight tours and 1:8 for coach trips. However, if your group requires a different ratio, we will work with you to ensure that you get what you need. This may include extra free places of calculating a separate tour price for any paying passengers.

Pupils will drop in and out of the trip. It happens. For those groups travelling by coach, we won’t ask for pupil details until very close to departure so pupils can swap in and out and the financial element of this can be organised internally. For those travelling by air, low cost airlines ask for names on booking so any change of passenger is likely to require a name-change fee which we would add to the final balance.

If pupils continue to add on, then this is fine subject to availability with the hotel and transport companies. The flight price may be higher if pupils add on months after the original booking and we will tell you what the cost is before you commit.

If pupils drop out, then unfortunately some fixed costs such as coach hire or instructors will be spread over a lower number and so your price may have to increase. However, this will never happen without a full discussion and we will work with you to limit any impact

There’s no right answer to this although we would recommend first time trip organisers look 12-18 months ahead whilst experienced trip organisers may want 9 months plus if heading to a new resort. We do want all trips to be as accessible as possible and whilst financial climates ebb and flo, giving students and parents a long lead in time will help them plan ahead and will stop you having to chase payments.

Every group must travel with comprehensive travel insurance including any winter sports or competitive sports cover. Your school or club may already have a policy in place which covers your trip otherwise please talk to a member of the Energy Travel team for further information.

Yes, please contact us directly for further information on specific requests

Energy Travel is ABTA bonded and holds an ATOL license. We also have comprehensive liability insurance cover – visit our Financial Safety web page to learn more.

As standard, we recommend that everyone travelling has a passport with at least 6 months validity remaining. UK nationals can contact the Foreign, Commonwealth & Diversity office to find out more.

We will ask all groups to complete a passenger manifest providing key details of your groups so we can pass this information on to suppliers and ensure a smooth and organised trip away.

We also ask for a list of all members of the group to be provided on school headed paper. this should detail all members of the group as well as having dates of birth for anyone under 18. It should detail the dates of the trip at the top as well as the name of the hotel you are staying at and it should be signed by the Head Teacher or equivalent authority.

The names list is used as proof of authenticity of the groups and different suppliers such as the hotel or lift pass office require it so that they can charge the correct amounts.

We know rooming allocations are key to pupils heading away. We request them about 4 weeks before departure, but confirmation of rooming may not come until right before you leave, especially if you are travelling in one of the busier times of year. If you have specific rooming requirements, then let us know.

Yes, you will have access to a 24-hour number from the moment you depart. You’ll also be provided with the details of a local contact.

Absolutely. Let us know what you want to do, and we can include après ski activities or excursions within your package price. Alternatively, we can add them on later down the line.
