Sport Destination Guide – The Netherlands

Sporting Heritage

So the days of Johan Cruyff, Edgar David and Arjen Robben have passed us by but the Netherlands still produces a regular stream of world-class sporting talents. Virgil van Dijk is widely regarded as one of the world’s best defenders, Netherlands currently top both men’s and women’s field hockey rankings, and you’ll also find Dutch talent at the top of Formula 1 and road cycling leaderboards.

This is largely thanks to a strong sporting identity and a keenness to promote healthy & active lifestyles to children from a young age, so whether you’re playing football, hockey, rugby, and even cricket.

Varied Excursions

School sports tours aren’t all about the fixtures, and our groups love to sample some of their hosts history & culture whilst touring; on that front, the Netherlands is tough to beat!

Boasting well-renowned theme parks like Walibi Holland and Duinrell, all ages can expect a thill-filled day during their tour.
If you’re looking for more of an educational element, there are some fantastic options to engage your students including the Anne Frank House museum, tours of Holland’s famous windmills, and a guided tour of Amsterdam by boat
